Edwin J. Santos was elected to the Board of Directors April 15, 2014. After a 28-year career in the banking industry, Ed retired in 2008 to serve as a director of numerous high-profile public and private companies. In April 2021, he was appointed to the Board of Flywire Corporation as chairman of the audit committee. Ed is also a director and chairman of the compensation committee of Washington Trust Bancorp, a director of Fidelity Institutional Asset Management, Delta Dental of R.I., and Crossroads, R.I. Ed is also a trustee of Bryant University, Past President of the Board of Rocky Hill School, and Past Chairman of the Board of Prospect CharterCARE, LLC, a for-profit healthcare joint venture. In 2010, he served as Treasurer of democratic candidate Gina Raimondo’s successful campaign for the office of R.I. General Treasurer, subsequently being named to the Treasurer-elect’s transition team. During his banking career, he served as Group Executive Vice President and General Auditor for Citizens Financial Group, after 23 years at FleetBoston Financial Group as Chief Auditor for the company’s global operations. He received a B.S. degree from Bryant University. Ed was also the recipient of the R.I. Black Heritage Society Award for Labor and Enterprise in 2008, and was awarded the American Hospital Association’s Grassroots Champion Award in 2013.
