What do I do if I have an emergency in the middle of the night or a loss on a weekend or holiday?
The Providence's 24-hour claims service is available after normal business hours. If you need to report a claim that requires emergency assistance, call our toll-free number (877) 763-1800. You will be directed to an after-hours service provider.
How will I know if my damaged property is covered by my insurance?
Usually your agent will be able to tell you if the loss is covered or not. However, if there are still some questions, the Providence Mutual claims staff is happy and able to help you.
When can I start repairs to my damaged property?
Usually, our adjuster will need to see the damaged property prior to repairs being started. However, if you need to protect your property from further damage, you should make emergency repairs and keep a record of your expenses.
Do all property damage claims need to be seen by an adjuster?
Not always. Some minor claims, those that can be easily repaired, do not have to be seen. Usually an estimate from your contractor will suffice. Be sure to keep all of the paperwork!
When will I receive payment for the loss?
As soon as our adjuster sees the damaged property, we will issue a check to cover the cost of repairs, less the deductible amount on your policy.
How do I know if Providence Mutual sells insurance in my state?
The Providence operates in all of New England and New York and New Jersey. A licensed and appointed Providence Mutual agent can assist you in the process. You can locate an agent in your area through the Find an Agent feature on our home page.
